About

As an Associate Professor and Chairman of the Electronic Engineering Department at The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Pakistan, I bring extensive experience in optical signal processing, physics-based deep learning for fiber-optic communication systems, millimeter-wave and microwave photonics, and short-reach optical links for 5G transport. My research focuses on the integration of Radio over Fiber (RoF) with Hybrid Passive Optical Networks (PONs), and I have contributed to international projects such as the "Real-time ultra-dense WDM-PON (REAL PON)" at Instituto de Telecomunicações, Lisbon, Portugal.
I have over 23 years of experience in both academia and the telecommunications industry, with expertise in planning, designing, and rolling out ISP, wireless, and optical networks. I have also served as a principal investigator for several research projects, including the NRPU research project No. 17107, titled "Design of Architecture and Devices for Short Reach Ultra-Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing Passive Optical Network for 5G and Beyond Wireless Communications."
