Associate Professor/University of Central Punjab
15 years of experience
14 years of academic experience, skills, techniques and sound knowledge of pharmaceutical science to handle this position properly. expertise in formulation development, dosage form design, drug delivery system, nanotechnology (polymeric nanoparticles, liposomes, noisome, solid-lipid nanoparticles), peptide synthesis, cell bioassay, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics studies using animal models, pharmaceutical analysis, and has the ability to work in a team having good organizational and managerial skills. Worked actively with pharmaceutical industries to develop and stabilize the formulations and different products.
I completed my PhD in the discipline of Pharmacy (Pharmaceutics) in 2018; also, my master’s and bachelor’s degrees are in Pharmacy. I have also acquired some of the certifications /courses to assist my academic role, laboratory skills and research expertise.
I am currently working at Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Central Punjab, Lahore-Pakistan. My job description involves teaching to undergraduate, M.Phil and PhD students, as we all to supervise the research projects of M.Phil and PhD students. I am also assigned the duties to Coordinate the graduate and post-graduate studies. I am working as consultant for research and development with different pharmaceutical industries. I have the expertise in developing various types formulations related to nanotechnology, and various dosage forms including, tablets, capsules, transdermal patches, microneedle based transdermal patches, nanocomposite, hydrogel, and films, erc. I have presented my research work at various conferences and have 120+ publications. I have proven knowledge of curriculum design, self-analysis reports (SARs) of the educational programs, also worked as a focal person for Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) for post-graduate study courses.
I have also served as a short-term Visiting scientist in the Prof. Dr K. Parang’s lab at School of Pharmacy, Chapman University, Rinker Campus, Irvine California (July 2022-October 2022). During my stay, I was actively involved in the synthesis, purification and evaluation of peptides (W(WR)4K Cyclic Peptide), nanoparticles of anticancer drugs and cell bioassay. I have learned different instrumentation techniques, including Mass Spectrometry, Transmission Electron Microscopy, Zeta Sizer, PurePep Chorus Peptide Synthesizer, Reversed Phase, Preparative High-Pressure Liquid Chromatography, High pressure homogenization and cell bioassay. I also trained two MS students in the synthesis and evaluation of nanoparticles with different anti-cancer drugs.
I have good expertise in operating Zeta Sizer, SEM, TEM, HPLC, FTIR, Osmometer, ELISA and many more to design the research projects for post-graduate research projects. I have good knowledge, understanding and expertise in using different modelling parameters for development & optimization of formulations. Box Behnken Design (BBD) and Response Surface Methodology (RSM) for 3D Modelling of various aspects of formulation, characterization and optimization of formulations using statistical tools like ANOVA, t-test, Coefficient of Variation, standard deviation, 3D graph plotting etc., I have good expertise in pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic studies, Zero & First Order Kinetic Modelling, Higuchi Modelling, Korsmeyer Papas Modelling, and their implications for different types of formulations. For Invitro bioequivalence studies, I have good experience of working with F1/F2 Models.
