20 years of experience
I am an Associate Professor in Nutrition and Community Health with more than 20 years of experience in public health research, nutrition intervention, and capacity building in academic and community settings. My expertise focuses on the application, evaluation, and optimization of nutrition assessment tools, anthropometric measurement systems, and digital health intervention platforms used in preventive and clinical health programs.
I have extensive hands-on experience in implementing, monitoring, and troubleshooting community- and institution-based nutrition and obesity intervention programs, including family-based lifestyle interventions, school health programs, and digital nutrition education platforms. This includes ensuring accurate use of anthropometric equipment (digital weighing scales, stadiometers, waist circumference tools) and standardized dietary assessment instruments such as food frequency questionnaires and 24-hour dietary recalls.
I am actively involved in developing, validating, and refining nutrition education modules, health intervention frameworks, and digital learning materials for healthcare professionals, educators, and students. I have conducted training-of-trainers (ToT) programs and workshops for academic staff, health professionals, and postgraduate students on the proper use of nutrition assessment tools, program implementation, and data interpretation.
My professional work includes leading and contributing to nationally funded research projects, serving on technical working groups for Malaysian Dietary Guidelines, and advising on evidence-based nutrition policies and health promotion initiatives in clinical and community health settings.
