Prof. Dr. Muhammad Naveed, Department of Biotechnology at the University of Central Punjab, Lahore, is globally ranked among the world’s top 2% scientists by Stanford University and Elsevier. He earned his Ph.D. in Biotechnology (Genomics & Bioinformatics) from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, and completed his post-doctorate in Bioinformatics from Jiangsu University, China. A recipient of the HEC Indigenous and IRSIP scholarships, he was awarded Best Ph.D. (IRSIP) Scholar of the Year in 2013 and honored as a Distinguished Alumnus by QAU in 2017. In 2025, he was selected for the prestigious HEC Pak-Sri Lanka Faculty Exchange Program.
Prof. Naveed is among the leading researchers of the UCP, and his research interests include bioinformatics, molecular biotechnology, nano-informatics, vaccine development, and drug design against infectious diseases. He has published 282 research articles with a cumulative impact factor of 4212.48, over 17,150 citations, and an H-index of 39, along with authoring one book, six book chapters, and filing five patents. He has supervised over 90 MSc, 80 MPhil, and 2 Ph.D. scholars. His contributions have earned him numerous honors, including the Prof. A.R. Shakoori Gold Medal (2025), HEC Pak-Sri Lanka fellowship award 2025 and the “Researcher of the Year” award from the University of Gujrat (2016) and the University of Central Punjab (2018, 2019, and 2021).
